Define “Good  Wine Deals”!

Wine is getting cheaper and more widely available…have you noticed?  In this article I’m going to give you a new perspective on the meaning of the phrase ‘….a good wine deal’.

 cheap wine deals

My guess is you’ve never heard anyone attempt to discuss it from this angle and I’ll promise this won’t be like the usual stuff that passes for ‘wine articles’.

Ok, so….. somebody says to you, “Hey….any ideas on where I can get a good wine deal?”

What would you say?

I’ll tell you what I’d say.

I’d say, “Define the term…..good wine deal.  Do you mean a ‘good deal’ on quality, on price, on availability, on delivery time, on selection or on packaging?”

Do you see where I’m going on this?

Wine Deals: cliche

You see, most people just automatically assume that a good ‘wine deal‘ means that they’re looking for cheap wine.  In fact, that’s not what ‘wine deals‘ means to everybody.

Some people define ‘a good wine deal‘ as getting a high quality wine at a fair price.’  They don’t mind paying more than the cost of a cheap wine (ex: Mogan David or Thunderbird)….as long as the wine they get is reasonably tasty and a reasonably fair price.

Then there are other people who define ‘ wine deals‘ as anything that remotely resembles wine as long as it’s cheap.   As long as it’s cheaper than beer they’re happy.

Some people define ‘a good wine deals‘ as even being able to find someplace to purchase a good quality wine.  Some wines aren’t available year around, you know.  And some wines aren’t availabel outside of the area where they’re produced.

If you’re a person who really knows what you want and that’s all you want…you’re likely to think that being able to get your favorite brand of wine at all……is ‘a good wine deals.”
Wine Deals| What’s a good deal?

What if you’re big into online wine buying or wine by mail order from local distributors?  Wine delivery time is going to be important to you, isn’t it?  And also perhaps the wine suppliers’ policy on whether they pay freight or not.

In that case, if you have the choice between one wine source that has a good price on a wine deal online but a 2 week delivery time vs. another wine source with a wine deals online that costs a little bit more but delivers quicker….you’re probably going to consider the later wine source a better deal.

Same thing with the ‘freight paid’ wine order situation.  For certain wines there’s probably not much difference in price.  But if the supplier, perhaps because they manage their business more efficiently, is able to ship you your online wine deal with no extra charge for freight….BINGO!  They probably got your business, right?

Wine Deals | Online

And last, what about packaging.  More and more people are finding their best wine deals online.  But one problem they still have to contend with is that they almost never can buy only one bottle of wine.  Frequently the best online wine deal requires a purchase of at least six bottle.  That’s “packaging”.

So for some people a good ‘wine deals‘ (especially if they’re ordering wine online) might be that they can mix and match their order amongst different types of wine.  Or perhaps they like the fact that they’re able to buy smaller quantities of wine more consistent with their consumption level.  Point is…..that’s what ‘packaging’ is all about.

So…..the next time you hear the term, ‘good wine deals‘, you’ll know there’s more to the question than meets the eye (or…the ear), right?

However because your looking for wine deals, lets cut to the mustard.
